First generation certification event

Through the support of the United States Agency for International Development USAID, the Association of Kankuamo Indigenous Agroecological Producers – ASOPROKAN, the producers of the Chemesquemena, Guatapurí and Atanquez zones began their certification process based on the implementation of associated practices to sustainable production, agroecological and conservation practices that conserve nature and preserve its culture, from harvesting healing plants, establishing core areas for conservation, protection of streams and rivers, to producing quality coffees.

 

After a 2-year process of monitoring and validating the application of practices, at the University Foundation of the Andean Area in the city of Valledupar, on July 13, 2022 in the morning hours, the ceremony of certification of the first 20 producers of the Kankuamo indigenous people, recognized as indigenous producers who contribute to the conservation and protection of the culture and biodiversity of the Kankuamo reservation.
